Tipping points

6th June 2019

“The tricky thing about tipping points… is you can only define them in retrospect. Who can say which choice led to a car crash or which cigarette started the cancer? And so we blindly stumble forward, never sure how close we are to the edge."

Vincent Mikaelson

Progress, rise or fall, is a process.

Retrospection can capture the cause and effect, introspection on the other hand demands painstaking effort to maintain the climb or contain the slide.

Some people admit their need for help, we can still help those who don't speak up before they reach the tipping point, even though we might be unable to establish the exact cause of a person's misdirection we can oftenly notice them acting out of character by paying attention to certain patterns.

Self-sabotage is a sign.

Withdrawal is a sign.

Reclusion is a sign.

Unwarranted extravagance is a sign.

Low self esteem is a sign.

Character instability is a sign.

Insomnia is a sign.

Obsessions is a sign.

Overreactions is a sign.

Avoidance is a sign.

Denial is a sign.

Change of sleeping and eating habits is a sign.

Mood swings and moodlessness is a sign.

Irritability is a sign.

Drug abuse is a sign.

Addiction is a sign.

Unwarranted violence is a sign.

We say people are suffering in silence, but do we pay enough attention to actually read into their states without having them verbally communicate it to us?

If we did then we could have saved many lives, but oftenly we don't and are thus culpable in some way.

Assault is an eventuality.

Arson is an eventuality.

Depression is an eventuality.

Suicide is an eventuality.

Homicide is an eventuality.

All eventualities can be reversed if observed early enough and paid attention to.

It's pointless complaining about a snake bite, snakes don't bite you because you are special, snakes bite because snakes bite, apparently so does life.

Carl Marx described life as a circle of chaos and order, in that circle there's a white and a black snake representing order and chaos respectively.

The White snakes head has a black spot in the middle and the black snakes head has a white one, the spots represent chaos and order respectively.

His point was, when everything in life is perfect and orderly there's still a chance of total chaos coming in to ruin that order.

Similarly, you can be in a chaotic place in your life then suddenly and out of nowhere things can just fall into place and order is restored.

Don't get absorbed in your chaos, redirection could be one step away.

Don't get too absorbed in your perfect and orderly life, in a snap you might find your world upside down.

Self awareness is the curve around tipping points.

Beware!
